Social Worker

Hello Hopewell Families!

My name is Katie Coulson, and this will be my second year at Hopewell Elementary. Previously, I was in St. Louis working at the City Public Schools for three years and a community support worker at Compass Health for two before that. I graduated from Truman State University with my degree in Psychology. I then went on to get my Master’s in Social Work at the University of Missouri-St. Louis. I have had my LCSW in the state of Missouri since 2022.

The school setting is what I love! I can come alongside students, teachers, staff, and parents to support the non-academic needs of the students and families. Below is just some of the support I offer:  

• work with the family to secure community resources.
• develop relationships with students and families.
• collaborate with the staff and teachers to provide support.
• address and problem-solve attendance issues
• intervene on behavioral concerns.

I am available via phone, email, home visits and meetings at Hopewell Elementary.

When I am not working, you can find me spending lots of time with my husband and two cats, reading, running, and trying new things like disc golf!
